4/27/2015

Wow what a week. it was so not normal we were busy and it was just such a crazy week.
Not a whole lot happened on Monday all the things we wanted to see were closed. Monday is an extension of the weekend for all the museums and stuff so our plans all went to crap.

Tuesday we had English and German. I missed a lot of it on a mini exchange with Elder Bodtcher at the train station. Deutsche Bahn (the only train company in the Germany) was going on strike for some stupid reason. so two days no trains. that was going to ruin plans for everything. like the elders overnighting with us Thursday and the exchange planned with Bernburg. but we found out that our train to Berlin was still going to run so that was no problem, and the other elders could figure out how to get here.

Wednesday We had planned to do an exchange with Bernburg but with no trains that couldn't happen. so we started to do some area book work. there is a lot of crap in our area book. we also had an awesome lesson with a Chinese Student that just moved back to Magdeburg. her name is Han and she has just recently discovered a faith in god and wants to learn more.

And it was 6 months!!!!! its gone by crazy fast.

Thursday was a crazy day. we watched the driving safely video. that was fun then we got ready for a ton of elders to come stay the night with us. we got a bunch of blankets and pillows from the other elders. then found out that they had to spend the night with us too. so we had an eight man apartment for the night. Probably the biggest b day party i have ever had.

Friday we got up at 4 and got ready then got on trains to Berlin. that was fun got i pad training. had a Mini Davis family reunion. all three of us then we went and saw the Siege Säule and the Brandenburg tor before we went home.

Saturday we went to Leipzig for stake conference that was about all that Saturday and Sunday were.

Had a really fun week

4/20/2015

The letter from last week never got here.  But that's alright. this week was pretty crazy.
Monday was not a normal p day. because we decided to have fun instead of going shopping for the entire day. after 5 months of shopping on p day i was really sick of it. our internet store went out of business so we had to find a new one. then we did emails. after we finished we finally went to the tower that elder Gibbs and i had wanted to since January. when we finished Elder Gibbs saw a skate park he wanted to check out and from the skate park we saw a place that had pedal vehicles for rent. so we went and rented a four man pedal cart for half an hour and went through the park on it.then we just went looking for more fun stuff to do. I bought myself a birthday present so thank you for my new speakers.

Tuesday was a pretty normal Tuesday. we had went looking for more less actives. then afterwards we had our English and German classes. Then the day was over so we went home.

Wednesday we had district meeting that was fun we had the zone leaders there and afterwards we went on exchanges with them. i stayed here in Magdeburg with Elder Aust. we had a lot of fun together. we had a lesson with Rafeal about obedience.(because Marian asked us to teach it) that went really well. then we planned a birthday party for Saturday because mine and marians birthdays are so close. (his was Yesterday) after that we did some finding and then went home.

Thursday we got up and went to Leipzig to Exchange back. and got back just in time for our appointment with Johanna. She is talking about how she wants to go on a mission so we gave her a PMG and are kinda giving her mission prep courses. that was a really good lesson we talked about Christ like attributes and it was just really cool. then the day was over and we went home.

Friday was a fun day. the four of us went to a city in the northern most part of the area called Stendal. it has about 40,000 residents and one member. we went looking for the member and he no longer lives there. so we did some finding but not many people were interested. it was cool to see somewhere that wasn't bombed out completely and that was only half built by Russians. then we went to Köthen because we needed headphones for a language assessment test. and then we came home. that was way too much time on trains.

Saturday we had Soccer that was a lot of fun we had quite a few people show up for it. then we went changed and had our birthday party. that was also a lot of fun.

Sunday we had church then we went to the Staigers for dinner so there was even more time on trains. then we got home did some studies and went to bed. and that was my week a lot of travel a lot of fun a ton of work. and a good week.

4/13/2015

Saturday after i emailed you we went to Köthen for a baptismal interview. then came back and watched the Saturday morning conference then we went to bed.

Sunday we went to  the baptism for the guy we interviewed. that was cool. then we spent the rest of the day watching conference.

Monday was a good day we went to the Aerosol Arena. its basically a spray paint graffiti hall of fame. this park is the largest one in Europe and isn't that well known. it was crazy. we were the only ones there except for two guys painting a mural. it had the feel of a post apocalyptic music video.

Tuesday we put elder Gallacher on a train early in the morning and then we never saw him again. i stayed the day with the other magdeburg elders so that was fun. then at 4 Elder Vellinga got here we took his stuff home and then went to English and German class.

Wednesday our lesson fell out so that wasn't fun. but then we decided to go over the less active list and do some more updating we went by 4 people and 3 don't live here anymore and the other wasn't home. that took up most of the day.

Thursday most of the day was taken up by anmelding.(Your guess is as good as mine I couldn't get it to translate and he didn't clarify later )  i have only been supposed to do that since December 14th so we did it. that took a couple hours. then we went by a few more less actives but none lived at their address any more.

Friday we had district meeting and we went to Marians and Galias for dinner. when we finished we saw the bus at the bus stop so i sprinted for it. (we were already going to be late and missing this bus would make it half an hour later.) that probably beat any 200m i ever ran at a track meet.

Saturday we had soccer ad then finished off the list of less actives. then we tausched back.

Sunday was good. it was like being in Utah again. there was a baby blessing. and a lot of visitors with children. i never thought i would have missed it that much.

Answers: no new area, Keine Angst, Conference is via broadcast for sat am session, that it at 6 tonight and tape delay for the rest. we watch it online at the church tomorrow.Bach is explained more in the letter.favorite part of the last 18 weeks has been the people. nothing what i expected, nothing like i want to be, but somehow i love them. their awesome and crazy
It has been a short week. but its been a crazy one. the last week of the transfer usually is. plus this week we had a holiday on Friday and another on Monday so that's why I'm writing right now. Transfer information... Elder Gallachers stay in Magdeburg was a short one. he will be going zone leader in Hanover and i will be another 6 weeks here. i haven't got my call yet so that's all the info i have. we got that from president last night  because he calls all ZL's personally.

Monday was an interesting P day. after we finished E mails we went on a tour of Magdeburg with Kasimir one of the other twos investigators. it was his birthday and he was lonely. but we had a lot if fun.

Tuesday was a crazy day there's not much to say about it because it was nothing exciting. but before we knew it it was time for English and German class and the whole day was gone.

Wednesday was a lot of fun. Dad would be so Jealous. We had ZTM in Leipzig so we went to that. Elder Gallacher and i had to give a lesson there about Repentance and the because of him film the church made last year. that wasn't that bad we just had them do a lot of role plays and before we knew it our 40 min were gone. then we had DL school and before we could get to bahnhof our train left so we had a couple hours before we could go home. Marc from Leipzig (i think his last name is ''From Leipzig'' because that's how he introduces himself. Hello I'm Marc From Leipzig) Took us on a tour of the coolest places in the city. we went to one church(I cant remember the name) but it was a significant church in the re unification of Germany. then we saw the Oprah house and a couple other things, then comes what will make Dad jealous. we went to the St Thomas church. (the one with the picture of Bach) this church is special because Johann Sebastian Bach was the Organist here. and it is now where his grave is. Mozart also played here in Bach's memory. so dad can be jealous. then we rode the subway back to bahnhof and returned to Magdeburg. then we went on tausch for the night I was with elder Gibbs. in Magdeburg we had a lot of fun. we have become really good friends since we got to Germany.

Thursday i was with Elder Gibbs all day and since we thought it would be one of our last times together we had a lot of fun and did a lot of work.  we had one lesson fall out Which made me really sad because i was sure id never see Georgia again. then we had a lesson with Dennis. we were gonna commit him to baptism but he started drinking again and wouldn't have remembered the date anyways. then we got Tschues Döners and Tausched back to our normal companions.

Friday we had weekly planning and it was a holiday so we tried some contacting but it was useless. no one on the street, and really angry people inside doors. We had a really cool Lesson with a Romanian family we found. there's a language barrier but the son speaks good enough German to translate. the problem this time is the son was gone. so we had a broken German/English/Romanian lesson. Luckily the spirit was there so it somewhat made sense. Then we went to the Wloka's for a visit. we had dinner and played some games. (i won because the game we played had teams and i had their daughter on my team, and she is evil and heartless at the game we played so we won.) then as we left Elder Bodtcher got a phone call from president. That is always nerve wracking. But it was only wishing him happy birthday so when he was done we all joked about how scary it is when president calls, and then our phone rang...
president called us and said that Elder Gallacher will be serving as a zone leader in the Hanover zone. and i still haven't got my call so i don't know who my new comp will be. anyways that was a shock to all four of us because with him only being here one transfer and me here 3 we were all sure that i was gone. president doesn't usually keep you in your first area that long.

Saturday we got up did studies and came to an internet laden. so now were just chilling here writing e mails. the AP's should call any minute now and tell us about transfers. that's pretty exciting anyways that was my week. the weather makes me feel at home. this week was really crazy that way. if you don't like the weather wait 10 minutes it will get worse. one day we woke up to go run and it was snowing. then everyday it would rain then shine then hail then shine then snow then hail then rain again. it was crazy. This week was a really good week I'm so glad to be on a mission I'm so glad for the stuff i learn the friends i make. i love this church. i wish people would just give it a chance. but i guess that's the hard part about the east. it doesn't change that i know it is true and i know how it blesses lives. I've seen it bless mine and see how it will bless the rest of my life. i guess next weeks e mail will be a little longer hopefully more cool stuff. i love you guys

My new comps name is elder Valinga he will be district leader here. just thought id let you know.

3/30/2015

Sounds like your week was a little more interesting than mine was.

Monday we had a normal p day. like we always do. we went to an antiques/used book shop i got a bible that was printed in 1935 its really cool and a book with 1000 churches throughout the world i was happy because it had the Magdeburg Dom and the salt lake temple in it.

Tuesday we had a good day we did a lot of street contacting this week. and then after we went to English and German classes then we had ward mission correlation and the day was gone.

Wednesday we had district meeting and then we had an exchange with Köthen. I stayed here with elder Glissmeyer. we and we went with Bruder Wloka to do home teaching. that was most of our day.

Thursday we tausched back and we had a really good lesson with a lady we found by the river. her name is Ursele she is German and is really new to religion. she really wants to learn more, and agreed to a soft baptismal commitment.

Friday we had our weekly planning and then did a little finding. afterwards we went to bahnhof and Tausched with Bernburg.

Saturday i was in Bernburg with Elder Riddle we talked to everyone we saw but that wasn't a lot of people. our appointment fell out and we didn't have one single conversation on the street. but it was still a fun time. the weather was nice and i got to see the bear pit. then we tausched back and we went to the Hilton's for Waffles.

Sunday was not a lot of fun daylight saving started in Germany so 6:30 came a lot earlier. we went to church and were a little scared that no one remembered to set their clocks back because only the missionaries were there. but people showed up (except for one who was supposed to talk) so i had to give a talk in sacrament. luckily i had one ready. German is a stupid language but according to the members I'm getting better.

That is pretty much all. i don't know if ill send an email next week. hopefully but its a holiday and the internet lounge will be closed so we will see. transfer calls are on Saturday and we are going to Leipzig Wednesday so hopefully ill have more to talk about.

3/23/2015 - Fast Week

This week went by really fast. Monday we went and got haircuts. Then we had family home evening with Marian and Galia played uno and had pizza and then went home.
Tuesday we had some appointments scheduled but they all fell out. It was not the best day. then we had our English and German classes. those are always fun.
Wednesday we had district meeting. the zone leaders came and we went on tausch with them afterwards. I was with Elder Müller and we had a lot of fun. Being with a German really helped my speaking. we did a lot of finding because more appointments fell out then we went home and went to bed
Thursday we said goodbye to the ZLs and they went back to Leipzig. then we went to the elbe and did some finding. we found a really nice lady and she was really interested. the weather was super nice so it was a super day. Then we had a lesson with Johanna. she is really funny whenever she has a question and doesn't want her dad to answer she asks us in English. its way funny
Friday we had weekly planning and then we had our Culture Night activity. that was awesome. we were really scared that it was going to flop. our branch didn't show a ton of interest but they came to it. (give Germans the opportunity to speak about themselves and they'll take it) it was a cool activity and was really a lot of fun
Saturday the weather looked like winter again. it had been pretty all week. we helped one of the other elders investigators move.  then we went to a lesson that didn't fall out. that was cool. the man went total Muslim on us though. told us about the Korans miracles and how it is scientifically perfect. then all 4 elders went to the Titigues and had dinner and played games. it was a good night.
Sunday i was supposed to give a talk in sacrament but i lucked out. the stake presidency showed up and called a new branch president. Elder Hilton is now our president and he and his wife are part time magdeburg ehe paar now then after church we went and did some more finding but not much happened. and then before i knew it it was Monday again.
