11/9/2015

Monday was a good p day, we cleaned and emailed and shopped then we
went to a mustard store, because apparently a famous mustard comes
from Bautzen. Then the tallest tower in Bautzen is closed until April.
So we went and made haircut appointments and that was the whole day
basically.

Tuesday. First we had our studies. That was normal, then we had lunch.
After lunch we went and did some finding, nothing too exciting
happened. Then we came home and got stuff ready for our meeting with
the ward mission leader. Then we went out to meet this
contact/investigator, there was some confusion about what time, so
that didn't actually happen but we were up on a hill and got to see a
really nice sunset (even though it was 4:30) then we met with the
mission leader. Bruder Albrech is a fun old man, he likes to tell us
his stories of his mission 60 years ago. Then we ate dinner with him
and his wife and went home. It's definitely getting to be winter time,
we'll see if it snows this year.

Today was a good day, first we went to district meeting in Görlitz,
that was good afterwards we had lunch and got on a train back to
Bautzen. We got home and studied then went to a little dorf and did
some doors and went by on a few contacts. After that we came back to
Bautzen and had a lesson with a lady that's been meeting with
missionaries for quite a while, she loves to talk and talk a lot. My
comp just wanted to teach teach teach, but she needs to be listened
too first, it's really hard to teach when we don't know her concerns.
Then we came home and that was our day.

Thursday, first we studied then after studies we went to a few
contacts but nothing really came from it. Then we went to the
apartment and had lunch. After lunch we printed out some stuff for our
new convert, she has a hard time reading so we print the Book of
Mormon out in bigger type for her. Then we went and visited her and
had a good time there, she's 87 and just a really nice old lady. ( she
loves calling the missionaries by their first names, but for some
reason Kyle is super difficult, and it's worse when I spell it for
them because Germans would spell it Keil and in German Kyle would be
pronounced Kula. So we'll see if I get called by my first name) then
we went to an appointment with a guy that lives in a little shack.
I've never met with him but from what I've been told, he's pretty
crazy. He didn't answer and we think he was probably passed out drunk.
Then we went home and started planning because we won't have any
tomorrow.

Friday we had studies then we went and got on a bus to go get an
extension for my residency permit. After an hour on a bus we got to
the offices and they were closed today, they are only open on Tuesday
and Thursday so we'll go back next week. Then we came home had lunch
and started planning for next week. Then we had a lesson with a less
active, his apartment smelled terribly strong of alcohol, and he
wasn't all there, and after twenty minutes of the appointment he just
told us we could go, he wanted to lay down. We have a lot of work to
do there. Then our joint teach had to cancel on us so we had to cancel
on one of the investigators. I was a little bummed about that. So we
went home finished weekly planning (mostly, we have a little more to
do tomorrow) then went to and appointment with an older couple. It was
a lot like a member appointment but they aren't members. We talked
with them about family history and then we went home for the night.

Saturday, first we went to drop off some things to sister Kahn then we
came home and went to Dresden for stake conference. There was a
demonstration by the train station in Bautzen, a bunch of nazis who
are against all the refugees. Then we went to Dresden had stake
conference, not to much interesting but it was cool I got to see
president Kosak. Then we went to the train station in Dresden and
there was a concert thing. It was weird but it was pretty fun. Then we
came home and had a party because the Görlitz elders are spending the
night with us.

Sunday, what a wonderful day. We got up and got on a train, went to
stake conference, we got there later than I wanted to so we ended up
in a back corner, the speakers in the gym didn't work all that well
and with the funny accent every one here has it was had to understand
a lot of what was said, but there were a few really good talks, the
focus of this conference was the strength out our own conversion. Then
afterwards we waited for trains.( no crazy dance party concert thing
and no store to keep us entertained. Then we rode the train back to
our area, and we spent the night calling people and trying to get
everything set solid for the week.
